Bob Gonnella has been in the music business for 50yrs. Kicking it out with such groups as Charade, The Sound Investment, The Mad Man, The Agents 003, Bob toured with Bill Haley and his Comets in the mid 60’s, and backed up such acts as Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Duprees, The Dovells, The Tymes, The Trampps, Chuck Berry, Ides of March, Junior Walker and the Allstars, Joey Dee and the Starliters, The Stlystics, The Blue Notes, Billy Paul, Monte Rock the Third.

For the last 23 yrs, Bob has been a member of Purple Reign. With musical influences that vary from Jazz to Rock, Bob's playing incorporates styles of drumming greats such as Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Louis Bellson, Bill Bruford, Billy Cobham, John Bonham, Neil Pert, Steve Gadd. David Garibaldi.

Bob grew up in a musical family -- his dad had 12 brothers each of whom played a different instrument. In the early years, Bob taught drums in local area music studios and also had private students. IN addition to drums, he plays guitar, bass, piano, and saxophone.

Bob is an avid baseball fan (played semi-pro) till age 50, loves the family life, and talking percussion.
